My picks for the holidays- Books

With the holidays coming up, it means that I can unwind and really get stuck into loads of things that I have deprived myself of recently!

There is nothing that I love more than getting stuck into a really bloody good book and now I have my hands on my mums old kindle it means I can actually get books and not worry about the font, the spacing and having to wear my glasses in public and having people asking me why I wear green sunglasses or if I'm blind (for the record I am severely dyslexic and I have to wear special glasses with green lenses in order to read properly!) so here are some books that I have read recently and that I really suggest for all you bookworms!

Books I suggest:

- The First three Hannibal Lecter Novels- Red Dragon, The Silence of The lambs and Hannibal by Thomas Harris

These are my favorite book series of all time. I love the world in which they are set in so much so that after reading (and watching) The Silence of The Lambs, I seriously considered a career in behavioral science I love Clarice Starling and how much of a powerful and strong woman she is. Hannibal Lecter is by far my favorite villain and I find him weirdly attractive (I told my best mate Stacey that in Starbucks, she almost dropped her hot chocolate, I blame Mads Mikkelsen for the attraction). Thrilling, frightening and compelling well worth a read whether you are a fannibal recovering from the end of season 2 or just want  to be thrilled!

- Looking for Alaska By John Green

Oh god the feels!!!!! I only finished reading this on Thursday and I was trying to hold the tears back, when I first started reading this I thought "Nope you can't top the fault in our stars, no way, no how, just no!" By god I was wrong. This had me laughing hysterically and crying the next, beautifully honest with teenage life and loss, it hit me like nothing I have read in a long time and if you loved the fault in our stars then you will love looking for Alaska even more!

- The amazing story of Adolphus Tips- Michael Morpougo

This is a lovely and heartwarming story set in Slapton in Devon (which where I go on holiday!) during World War Two and is about a girl who looses her cat when her village is shut off for D Day practice landings. Funny, heartbreaking and charming, this is a perfect read for any animal lover, history buff or younger reader.

Books I am going to read-

- How to be a woman- Caitlin Morgan

I've only started this book this morning and I have been cracking up! An very honest portrayal of girls growing up. I can't wait to read it all and take in all the advice that I can!

-Love you bye!- Scott Mills

Any fans of Scott Mills? Then this is for you! Scott Mills is by far my favorite radio DJ ever and I am shaking with excitement for when I can read this!

-Lolita- Valdmir Nabokov

This is the book your parents don't want to read but not only is it considered an important book to read for its message, but it also was also at the top of Veronica Varlows book list on her blog and I also don't read enough "classics" unless for school

What do you plan to read over the summer? Let me know in the comments, do you have an suggestions for me? Do you need some help choosing- I'll help you!

Happy Reading
